Assembler - Paint Line 2nd shift

Job Summary:
The Assembler assures products are built, assembled, and prepared for final shipping to the customer. This role performs required assembly tasks in a manner that ensures timely delivery to the customer. This role requires maintaining a clean and organized work cell.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Cleans and prepares parts or assemblies for painting or finishing operations; hangs clean parts on the paint line. Operates and maintains the parts washer; maintains oil and water level and refills as necessary.
- Assembles product components following procedures and drawings; uses tools and methods necessary to produce quality assemblies; performs soldering, wiring, plumbing, testing, brazing, etc.
- Assembles, installs, aligns, fits, tests, adjusts, and packages a variety of sub-assemblies and parts or auxiliary equipment in the final product assembly. Glues and bonds components together as required. Works to close tolerances and fits to meet operating requirements; products may be standard or customized and require special modifications. Makes final adjustments on completed units.
- Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations particular to the working conditions.
- Initiates procedures that comply with OSHA / MSHA requirements regarding safety issues, use of safety equipment, material safety data sheets, etc.
- Attends Company and industry-related meetings, as required.
- Establishes individual goals aligned with the Company's business strategies and lean manufacturing objectives.
- Participates as a member of the department's team and/or other teams as assigned and contributes to accomplishing the team’s goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
One or more years of job-related experience with experience reading blueprints and electrical and piping schematics preferred.
